Madhya Pradesh BJP President V.D. Sharma criticised Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday as Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' moved across the state, stating that voters would strongly react in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to what Sharma referred to as Gandhi's "double standard."
Sharma stressed that the people of Madhya Pradesh had already rejected the Congress for what he termed as their "appeasement politics" during the November assembly elections.
He also underscored Gandhi's non-attendance at the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, indicating that voters would not overlook this.
Reflecting on the previous leg of the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' that traversed the state ahead of the Assembly elections, Sharma highlighted that the Congress suffered defeat in all 22 assembly seats covered by Gandhi's yatra.
Sharma expressed confidence in a comparable outcome this time, asserting that the people of Madhya Pradesh would not tolerate what he perceived as Gandhi's political inconsistency, reportedly.
After a one-day break on Sunday, the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', led by Rahul Gandhi, resumed its journey from Shivpuri district on Monday, marking its third day in the state. The yatra concluded in Raghogarh, the hometown of veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.
Reportedly, the remarks made by the BJP President highlighted the increasing political tensions between the BJP and the Congress as the Lok Sabha elections drew nearer. Gandhi's yatra, aimed at uniting the nation and advocating for justice, has reportedly faced criticism and allegations of political opportunism from the BJP camp.
Reportedly , supporters of Rahul Gandhi hailed the yatra as a significant effort to connect with the people and address their grievances. Gandhi's focus on issues such as social justice and economic empowerment resonated with many citizens, particularly in rural areas where the yatra received a warm welcome.
With the political discourse heating up in Madhya Pradesh, both the BJP and the Congress are preparing for a fiercely contested electoral battle in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Each side is making efforts to win over the electorate to their respective favor.
