Gurmel Singh, president of the Patti block of the Congress, was shot dead by armed men in Tarn Taran on Wednesday. Gangsters Doni Bal, Prabh Dasuwal, Afridi Tut and Kaushal Chowdhury took the responsibility for the murder in a social media post.

 

Describing Gurmel as a police informer, they held him responsible for passing off information to the police, which led to Afridi’s arrest. The gangsters said in the post that Gurmel had an understanding with their rivals and was about to give more tip-offs to the police.
