In two major operations in the last 24 hours, Border Security Force (BSF) troops seized 8 kg of heroin, 290 grams of opium, 3 kg of methamphetamine (ice) and 34 live rounds bearing the mark of the Pakistan Ordnance Factory near the international border in Amritsar.
Following a suspected drone movement, BSF troops launched an extensive search operation along with the Punjab Police and recovered 3 kg of party drug ice from a field near Bhaini Rajputana village. In another planned midnight operation in a border area of Amritsar near Attari, BSF troops seized 8 kg of heroin, 290 grams of opium and 34 Pak ordinance-made live rounds from a field.
Earlier, on October 7, the BSF had recovered pistol parts and live rounds in Tarn Taran district. While carrying out a search on the Tarn Taran border, BSF troops recovered one plastic bottle containing the slide assembly of a pistol near Naushera Dhalla village. The bottle was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape with a metal wire loop attached, indicating a drone drop.
On Tuesday morning, while tracking a suspected drone movement, the BSF troops had seized a packet containing 75 live rounds of 9 mm calibre from a field near Rajoke village of Tarn Taran. The ammunition had stamps of the Pakistan Ordnance Factory, confirming the involvement of Pakistan-sponsored elements.
