I have greater faith in PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, says Champai.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has been given Z plus category security after he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday.
The senior JMM leader announced on Tuesday that he will join the BJP along with his son Babulal Soren on August 30.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday Champai said that he will take membership of BJP along with his son. He said that he had already expressed his feelings on August 18.
“In JMM, only Shibu Soren ji is senior to us. However, he is suffering from health issues and he is unable to speak anything. That is why we have started a new chapter. For this new chapter, I had earlier thought that I would retire. Later, under public pressure, I decided to remain actively involved in politics,” he said.
“Earlier, we had thought that we would form a separate organization. There is a shortage of time and Jharkhand state has a different status. After thinking about it, I believed in the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi and my faith in Home Minister Amit Shah increased,” he added.
“I have decided to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. We will take membership on the 30th. Tomorrow we are going to Jharkhand. I will not answer anyone who says anything about me. My struggle, my history is like a mirror,” said Champai.
When asked whether Babulal Marandi is angry with his joining BJP, Champai declined to comment saying that he has no information on the issue.
Before joining the BJP, the Central government increased the security of Champai Soren. He has been given Z plus category security. Now 33 security personnel will be deployed for the security of Champai Soren.
