BJP in Haryana has released its list of 67 constituency seats ahead of the assembly polls scheduled to take place on October 5. However, since the release of the list, the internal strife in the BJP has been rife which is taking a toll on the party’s decision to delay the finalising of the names of the remaining 23 candidates.

No consensus has been reached on a single name for these pending names of the candidates.

The seats of many senior leaders including seven sitting MLAs are at stake. These include two ministers and two former ministers of Chief Minister Saini's government. Additionally, no decision has been taken regarding the candidates for three assembly seats in Sirsa district.

The top leadership of BJP has called Haryana Lokhit Party President Gopal Kanda, who is also MLA of Sirsa to New Delhi on Thursday afternoon to discuss the change of 40 candidates in the list of 67 candidates.

BJP has changed 40 candidates in the list of 67 candidates released on Wednesday. Tickets were given to eight ministers of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's government, while three ministers - Ranjit Chautala, Bishambhar Valmiki and Sanjay Singh were left without tickets. Besides this,  tickets of five sitting MLAs have also been cut.

There is still confusion over the tickets of PWD Minister Dr Banwari Lal and Minister of State for Education Seema Trikha.

Gopal Kanda wants to fight with BJP:

The 23 assembly constituencies include some major seats which are Narayangarh, Pundri, Assandh, Gannaur, Rai, Baroda, Julana, Narwana, Dabwali, Sirsa, Ellenabad, Rohtak, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Bawal, Pataudi, Nuh, Firozpur. Jhirka, Punhana, Hathin, Hodal, Faridabad NIT and Badkhal seats are also included.

According to the reports, some MLAs will retain their seats which includes former education Minister Prof. Ram Bilas Sharma, contesting from Mahendragarh.

There is also confusion over the Rohtak seat of former Haryana Cooperation Minister Manish Grover.

The confusion continues as Minister of State for Education Seema Trikha is seeking a ticket from Badkhal, but Devendra Chaudhary, son of Union Minister of State Krishnapal Gurjar, Dhanesh Adlakha and Renu Bhatia are among the strong contenders for the said constituency.

The ticket of BJP MLA Satyaprakash Jaravata from Pataudi is also reeling under the same circumstances.

The reports said BJP wants to bet on a new face in Narnaul. Rao Inderjit is adamant on the ticket of former Minister of State Omprakash Yadav. No decision has yet been made regarding the Narayangarh seat. The ticket of former Kalka MLA Latika Sharma has been cancelled.

The reports further added that the ticket of sitting Ganaur MLA Nirmal Rani will be taken away. Devendra Kadian is likely to get the ticket from Ganaur.

Devendra Kaushik, brother of former MP Ramesh Kaushik, is also trying for the ticket. The name of a former minister from Rai, Krishna Gehlot, is on the top of the panel.

In Baroda, the name of IG's wife is considered strong in the panel. The names of the candidates of Rai and Baroda will be finalised only after the decision of Ganaur is taken.

Controversy continues on three assembly seats of Nuh district. Zakir Hussain is a strong contender for the ticket from Nuh. Rao Inderjit Singh Thakur wants Surendra Pintu to contest the elections. There is a lack of strong candidates in Punhana and Firozpur Jhirka seats.

Whereas, the reports have said that Gopal Kanda's opinion will be given significant importance. Kanda will contest elections from Sirsa. Gobind's son Dhaval has been declared the righteous candidate for the Halopa ticket, and Meenu Beniwal can contest elections from Ellenabad on a BJP ticket.
