Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the technology giant Google to launch its operations in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, focusing on Artificial Intelligence.
Announcing at the district collectors’ conference on Wednesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the development would be a game changer for the state.
He exuded confidence that the collaboration, encompassing data centres, AI, machine learning, and deep tech, would help transform Visakhapatnam into a global service hub.
The chief minister, in a post on X, said that the government’s new progressive industrial policies have created a business-friendly ecosystem, attracting investors, and paving the way for employment opportunities.
“Following up on the MoU signed between the GoAP and @Google, I met a Google delegation led by VP Bikash Koley in Amaravati today,” he said adding, the delegation offered him an overview of their operations and shared their ambitious plans in India.
“I am proud that Andhra Pradesh has been identified as a key partner. During the meeting, we also discussed various potential areas for collaboration. I am confident that collaborations with global technology leaders such as Google will empower our State, ultimately contributing to India’s digital growth story. Looking forward to working together to bring these initiatives to fruition, he added.
