Haryana's kabaddi teams brought pride to the state at the 50th Junior National Kabaddi Championship held at Roshnabad Stadium in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The men’s team won the gold medal, while the women’s team secured silver.
Haryana's Development and Panchayats Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar, who is also the President of the Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, congratulated the players on their success.
Panwar said the men’s team performed brilliantly, defeating Uttarakhand 51-21 in the final to win gold. The women’s team, despite a close match, earned silver with a narrow 45-44 loss in their final.
He praised the players for their hard work and dedication, highlighting that this achievement has raised Haryana's status in kabaddi. Panwar also congratulated the Chairman of the Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Dalal, Secretary Sh. Naseeb Janghu, the coaches, and all those involved in the team's success.
Panwar spoke about how this victory reflects the power of determination, teamwork, and hard work. He believes this will inspire young athletes to keep pursuing their goals despite obstacles.
Haryana players have always excelled in kabaddi at both national and international levels, showing a bright future for the sport, the Minister added.
Panwar also noted that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is promoting sports through new policies that benefit athletes across the country. These policies have helped India gain recognition at the international level.
He praised Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for offering the highest cash prizes in the country to Olympic and Paralympic medalists, further motivating athletes.
Panwar also mentioned that over 1,000 sports nurseries have been set up in Haryana to train young athletes, making the state a sports hub in the country.
