On the eve of Basant Panchami, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the 'J&K Sambhaav Utsav-2024', organized by the Resident Commission Jammu Kashmir, at J&K House in New Delhi here on Tuesday.

The Lieutenant Governor also launched the 'Hello J&K' information and facilitation portal, as well as digital photography, painting, and singing competitions for youth on the theme "Know Jammu Kashmir.”

The LG Sinha thanked officials from the Resident Commission Jammu Kashmir and all others, adding that the 7-day dynamic expo will showcase the best of J&K UT's cultural and artistic legacy, cuisine, agriculture, and handicrafts.

"Sambhaav Utsav also highlighted the future of Jammu and Kashmir, which is ready to contribute to Viksit Bharat."

"It is an excellent opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to reviving and preserving our ancient heritage for future generations," said Sinha.

He said, “The J&K Resident Commission's new beginning will present tourists with glimpses of the new and resurgent J&K departments of the J&K government.”

The Lieutenant Governor said that the 'Hello J&K' program, launched today, will connect Jammu and Kashmir's youth with domain experts from many fields, both online and offline, allowing for a rich exchange of knowledge, ideas, and possibilities.

He added that it will be a one-stop shop for Jammu Kashmir residents living outside the UT in terms of education, business, livelihood, health and wellness, tour and travel information, and safety and security.

At the inaugural ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor described Jammu and Kashmir's development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

In recent years, the UT of Jammu Kashmir has seen a complete turnaround development scenario.

A large portion of the people in Jammu and Kashmir who were previously neglected have now become empowered. People's participation is now determining the direction of J&K's growth path, he stated.

Today, J&K is regarded as a model for urban change, innovation, start-ups, agriculture, and industrial development, and it has established a niche in tourism.

Sinha added, that the achievements of Kashmir's youth, women, and farmers inspire the country.

The UT of Jammu and Kashmir is now regarded as a centre for tourism rather than terrorism. Last year, a record 2.11 crore tourists visited Jammu and Kashmir.

The number of foreign tourists visiting the UT has also expanded dramatically. Gurez and Lolab Valley were selected as the most stunning offbeat locations in the country.

The Lieutenant Governor also emphasized the UT Administration's important objectives, which include the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), GI labelling for specialized products, improved market linkage, farmer capacity building, and the promotion of local products.

“I am convinced that in the next four years, J&K will be the country's leading source of farmer income,” he said.

Several departments, including Tourism, JKTPO, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Information and Technology, are displaying their work to a diverse range of stakeholders at the event.

A varied assortment of products, including ODOP items, handmade GI-tagged carpets, GI-tagged Pashmina shawls, silk sarees, chain stitching, authentic Kashmiri outfits, paper mache, crewel woodcarving items, and so on, have been displayed for tourists and possible customers.
