Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced on Saturday that security forces will implement the "Kashmir model" to prevent the resurgence of terrorism in the Jammu region.

Speaking at the launch of Hausla 2.0 and the Start-Ups portal at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre, Sinha declared that Pakistan is struggling to accept peace in J&K and is attempting to revive terrorism in Jammu.

“We will not allow terrorism to return to Jammu. We will use the same strategy that successfully crushed terrorism in Kashmir. Currently, all terror groups in Kashmir are leaderless,” Sinha said.

He praised the people of Jammu for their consistent stand against terrorism, noting that J&K has undergone significant changes over the past four to five years.

“In Kashmir’s ten districts, peace prevails, and youth are now focused on innovation, agriculture, and other sectors,” he said.

Sinha highlighted the peaceful atmosphere in the valley, which was unimaginable five years ago. “Various initiatives, including ‘Back to the Village’ and ‘My Town, My Pride,’ have been launched to support youth development and entrepreneurship at the panchayat level,” he said.

The LG revealed that 540 young people in J&K are becoming entrepreneurs daily, with 840 startups established, of which 265 are run by women.

He also highlighted that the transparent government recruitment process has allowed children of cart pullers, vegetable vendors, and street vendors to secure government jobs for the first time.

The Hausla programme aims to harness the entrepreneurial potential of women in J&K, increasing their financial access and market reach.

“We want women entrepreneurs in J&K to build global brands through their own hard work,” Sinha said.

He also introduced the new JK Startup portal, designed to streamline the application process for support mechanisms like seed funding, mentoring, and infrastructure benefits.
