LG Sinha grants job to Reasi bus attack victim’s widow

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday presented an appointment letter on compassionate grounds to Smt. Renu Sharma, the widow of Sh. Vijay Kumar, who was killed in the Reasi bus attack.

 

On June 9, Vijay Kumar, a resident of Reasi, was driving a bus carrying pilgrims when it was ambushed by terrorists.

 

The attack, which occurred in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, led to the tragic deaths of nine civilians and left 41 others injured. 

 

The bus was en route to a religious site when terrorists intercepted it, launching a brutal assault that resulted in significant casualties.

 

During the ceremony, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his profound sympathy for the victim’s family and stated, "We stand in solidarity with the families affected by this horrific attack. The Jammu and Kashmir administration is committed to providing all possible support to Smt. Renu Sharma and her family during this difficult time. We honour the memory of Sh. Vijay Kumar and his sacrifice."

 

He assured the bereaved family that the administration would extend every possible assistance and support.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Reasi, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, also voiced his condolences and support, stating, "We are deeply saddened by this attack and will continue to assist the family of Sh. Vijay Kumar. His bravery and sacrifice will not be forgotten."

 

Family members of Sh. Vijay Kumar were present at the Raj Bhawan for the appointment letter handover, alongside Deputy Commissioner Mahajan.
