Madhya Pradesh has made history by passing the Jan Vishwas Bill-2024, becoming the first state to adopt this law, inspired by the central government's Jan Vishwas Act of 2023. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav played a key role in introducing this bill, which aims to make legal processes simpler, improve transparency, and create a better environment for business.
The MP Jan Vishwas Bill-2024 changes 64 sections across eight state laws in five important areas: Industrial Policy, Energy, Co-operation, Labour, and Urban Development.
Key features include replacing jail sentences with fines for minor offences, allowing penalties instead of punishments, and providing options to settle offences without going to court. It also removes 920 old laws that are no longer needed, making the legal system more modern and practical.
Chief Minister Yadav said the bill will transform governance, make business easier, and turn Madhya Pradesh into a top destination for investment.
He emphasised that the new laws will reduce pressure on the courts and help create more jobs by encouraging entrepreneurship. This will allow both the public and business owners to navigate government procedures more smoothly.
Yadav explained that replacing jail sentences with fines for small offences will ease the burden on the justice system, speed up processes, and keep the legal framework up to date. He called the bill an important step for the state's economic growth.
Following the central government's Jan Vishwas Act, which decriminalised 183 provisions in 42 laws, Madhya Pradesh has made similar changes at the state level. The bill updates outdated laws and reflects CM Yadav's vision for a more accessible and transparent government that benefits citizens and businesses alike.
The MP Jan Vishwas Bill-2024 is expected to create a more business-friendly environment, boost investor confidence, and help Madhya Pradesh enter a new phase of growth and development.
