Miss World contestants visited Warangal and Historic Ramappa temple in Telangana on Wednesday, official sources said.
The delegates visited the two places in two separate groups, they said.
Group 1 (Americas and Caribbean) visited the historic Warangal Fort, the 1000 Pillar Temple, and the Bhadrakali Temple, while Group 2 (Africa) headed to the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple to witness traditional Perini dance performance.
The contestants studied the culture, traditions, and history of the Kakatiya dynasty, they further said.
The Ramappa temple at Palampet in Telangana’s Warangal District has been conferred the tag of UNESCO World Heritage site.

The13th century engineering marvel named after its architect, Ramappa, was proposed by the government as its only nomination for the UNESCO World Heritage site tag during the year 2019 and got the recognition in 2021.
On May 15, the groups will explore the spiritual Yadagirigutta Temple and experience the rich weaving traditions of the UNWTO-recognized Pochampally village, renowned for its iconic Ikat weaves.
The contestants of Miss World 2025, representing 109 countries, were given a vibrant welcome on Tuesday as they visited Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar and the bustling Laad Bazar (also known as Chudi Bazar), famous for its bangles and pearls.
Significance of Ramappa temple and Warangal Fort
Kakatiyas were the benevolent rulers an have created mighty irrigation projects throughout South India and to commemorate them, they have built magnificent rock temples and townships around them during 11 to 14th centuries AD, making the 3T concept (Tank, Temple and Township).
The famous Thousand Pillars Temple at Hanamkonda at downstream of Bhadrakali Tank, Ramappa Temple at downstream of Ramappa lake at Palampet and Warangal Fort stand testimony to their ingenuity and engineering skills.
Rudreshwara (Ramappa) temple is a masterpiece of the Kakatiyan style of temple architecture, representing the unique combination of ingenuity in stone sculpting and engineering experimentations. The use of sandbox foundation and floating bricks, as well as thoughtful selection of materials and perfect planning allowed to reduce the load on the temple structure, making it earthquake resistant and remaining intact even after 800 years of construction.
The Ramappa Temple complex which consist of three temples was consecrated in 1213, designed and architected by Ramappa, after whom the temple complex is named.
It bagged the coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site tag on 25h July 2021.
The famous Warangal Fort locally known as Orugallu Kota / Khila Warangal of Kakatiyas is strongly encircled by three fortifications involving deep moats with crocodiles making it impregnable fort. The circular fortification of the city is well recognised on the ground visually, the map and aerial photographs confirm this pattern.
