In a sweeping reshuffle, the Odisha government has transferred 55 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of 21 districts, according to an official notification issued on Sunday.
Among the key appointments, senior IPS officer AK Ray from the 1988 batch has been appointed Director General (Prisons and Correctional Services).
Vinaytosh Mishra, a 1993 batch officer, was promoted to Additional Director General (ADG) of the Crime Branch.
RP Koche will now serve as the Director of Intelligence, while Arun Bothra takes on the role of ADG (Railways & Coastal Security). Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarsi has been named the new ADG (Modernisation).
In a significant shift, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda has been reassigned as ADG (Training) and Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA). He will be replaced by Suresh Dev Detta Singh as the new police commissioner for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
Other notable appointments include Anup Kumar Sahoo as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Training at BPSPA, S Shyni as IGP for the Crime Against Women and Children Wing, and Sanjay Kumar Kaushal as the new IG of Vigilance.
Meanwhile, Pinak Mishra has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar, succeeding Prateek Singh, who has been transferred as SP of Cuttack (Rural).
