In a miraculous turn of events, a 52-year-old woman from Odisha, who was presumed dead after a fire incident at her home, stunned everyone when she opened her eyes just moments before her cremation was about to take place.
The extraordinary incident unfolded in Berhampur town, located in the southern district of Ganjam, leaving the family in awe and disbelief.
The woman, belonging to a financially disadvantaged family, had sustained severe burn injuries amounting to over 50 percent on February 1 during a fire mishap at her residence.
Initially admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, she was later referred to another medical facility due to the gravity of her condition. However, due to financial constraints, her husband decided to bring her back home.
On Monday, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and it appeared as if she had passed away. Without seeking professional medical advice or obtaining a death certificate, her husband proceeded to take her to the nearby cremation ground at Bijipur.
As preparations for her final rites were underway, the seemingly lifeless woman astounded everyone by suddenly opening her eyes. Shock and disbelief rippled through the gathering as they realized that she was, in fact, alive.
Neighbours and family members, who were present at the cremation ground, were taken aback by the miraculous turn of events. The local corporator was quickly informed, and arrangements were made to transport the woman back home using the same hearse that had been intended for her cremation.
Subsequently, she was readmitted to the hospital for further medical treatment, leaving the community baffled by the extraordinary turn of events.
