Residents of Bhusari Colony in Baramati were left frustrated and dismayed as they found themselves unable to cast their votes despite possessing valid voter IDs.

Chaos ensued at the polling booths located near Eklavya Chowk, with heavy traffic exacerbating the situation.

Despite their longstanding residency and voting history, many citizens discovered their names missing from the voter list.

Vikram More, a long-time resident, expressed his shock at not finding his or his family members' names on the list, despite decades of voting from the same address.

Similarly, Dilip Shah, a retired government officer, was astounded to find only one out of four family members listed as eligible voters.

Numerous others shared similar experiences of being disenfranchised despite having voted in previous elections.

Complaints mounted as citizens struggled to understand why their names had been omitted without prior notice.

The absence of adequate facilities compounded the discomfort, with seniors enduring the scorching sun without chairs or wheelchairs.

Attempts to rectify the situation saw volunteers from Prabodhan Manch assisting citizens at an enquiry desk.

Despite efforts to address grievances and register complaints, the underlying issue remained unresolved.

Pavan Kanojia, one of the volunteers, highlighted the magnitude of the problem, pointing that it required government intervention.

In response, Sanjay Asawle, the assistant returning officer for Khadakwasla constituency, cited various possible reasons for the missing names, including changes in residence and delimitation processes. "Despite efforts to address voter ID queries, the issue persisted", he said.
