Pakistani Terrorists who are supposed to be behind multiple attacks on security forces in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch are using sophisticated tech and secured communication networks to evade being tracked by the security agencies, said officials.

Even the Over Ground Workers (OGWs) are forbidden by the terrorists from approaching them and are instructed to drop food at a certain location, from which it is removed after a few days.

This is done to guarantee that even if terrorists are apprehended, OGWs cannot inform security services of the terrorists' specific location or hideout.

An in-depth analysis conducted by the security agencies reveals that these terrorists are using a secured communication network which was given to them by the Pakistan handlers while infiltrating this side of the border.

"Through Secured Communication Network, the terrorists are not only in touch with each other but also with their mentors in Pakistan to take directions," the officials said.

Referring to the terrorists' new strategy for long-term survival inside the forests of the Pir Panjal range, officials said some old OGWs who had previously worked for the terrorists are occasionally taking calls from across the border or from the Valley to drop food and other items required by the terrorists at a specific location.

The terrorists do not contact the OGW, which prepares logistics for them. After surveying the location, one of them arrives, collects the food and other stuff from the place, and transports it deep into the forests, where they have been hiding in natural caves.

"There are relatively few OGWs who have supported the terrorists since the local people have categorically refused to help them. “Even some of the OGWs later informed police," they said.

Aside from the 'Secured Communication Network', officials do not rule out the likelihood that Pakistani Rangers created a tunnel along the International Border, either in Punjab or between Kathua and Samba, to aid terrorist infiltration.

"A possibility of the terrorists using a tunnel in Punjab border and then taking Kathua route to move towards forest areas of Udhampur is also not ruled out," according to police.

According to reports, 10 to 12 terrorists infiltrated Basantgarh forests in Udhampur district and were guided by an OGW to the forest area, where they were intercepted by the local Village Defence Guards (VDG), one of whom was killed while the terrorists escaped.

According to officials, the terrorists are still thought to be hidden in Basantgarh's forest cover, and the Army, police, and paramilitary personnel are conducting an operation to neutralise them.

In Kathua district, officials claimed a combined search operation was initiated by police, Army, and BSF at hamlet Jathana in Rajbagh area on Tuesday morning after people reported the presence of five suspected terrorists looking for food.

They did, however, flee the site after becoming suspicious that their movements had been reported to security personnel, according to reports.
