Three persons from Himachal Pradesh were killed and two others injured when an ambulance fell into a gorge near Manugwal on the Hoshiarpur-Dharamshala road early on Saturday. The accident occurred when the ambulance carrying a patient was returning from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh.
The police said the driver lost control over the vehicle as a road berm had caved in due to rains. The deceased have been identified as Sanjiv Soni (50) of Pathial village, Onkar Chand (70) of Gangath village and Rakesh Kapoor (45) of Noorpur village. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Renu Kapoor (49) of Noorpur and the ambulance driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, were rescued with the help of villagers.
