Uttarakhand Govt to provide 50 percent electricity subsidy for consumers using up to 100 units, 200 units in Himalayan regions, says Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami .


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Saturday a 50 percent subsidy on electricity bills for consumers using up to 100 units per month, with a higher limit of 200 units for those in high Himalayan regions. This initiative aims to provide economic security to the weaker sections of society.

 

Dhami also emphasised the importance of maintaining peace in the state following the passage of a new anti-riot law, which has received gubernatorial approval. He stated, “If anyone rioting inside the state damages government or private property, compensation will be ensured from the same rioter.” He reiterated the state's commitment to peace, asserting that “there is no place for riots, arson, and vandalism here.”

 

On the topic of government appointments, Dhami highlighted the administration's efforts to fill vacancies, noting that over 17,000 appointments have been made in the past three years. He affirmed that all recruitment examinations are conducted transparently and fairly, pledging to continue this approach in the future.

 

Additionally, Dhami announced that 1,094 engineers would receive their appointment letters, addressing a shortage in the engineering sector and supporting the state’s development efforts. He stated, “The development of the state will also move forward at a fast pace.”
