Three NCC cadets from Uttarakhand have set a remarkable example of courage, determination, and resilience. These National Cadet Corps members successfully scaled Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, on May 18. Their historic achievement stands as powerful proof that when dreams are pursued with unwavering faith and relentless effort, no goal is beyond reach.
Among these courageous mountaineer-cadets—Virendra Samant, Mukul Bangwal, and Sachin Kumar—not only did they test their limits by conquering the world’s highest peak, but they also sent a strong message: when Indian youth set their minds to something, no challenge is impossible.
Cadet Virendra Samant shared, “This is not just our victory; it belongs to every young person who dares to dream. We faced immense challenges, but at every step, we held firm in our belief—in ourselves, in our team, and in the dream we were determined to achieve.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the young cadets on their remarkable achievement, stating that this success is not just theirs but a proud moment for the entire state. He praised their courage and commitment, noting that their accomplishment will serve as a powerful source of inspiration for youth across the country. The Chief Minister added that their success embodies the core values of the NCC—discipline, teamwork, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Major General Rohan Anand, Additional Director General of Uttarakhand NCC, shared that the expedition was organized by the NCC with the aim of encouraging Indian youth to embrace adventure sports, develop leadership skills, and foster self-reliance.
Throughout this challenging journey, the cadets braved extreme weather conditions and pushed through both physical and mental exhaustion. It was their relentless effort and strong sense of teamwork that ultimately carried them to the summit of success.
