In a press conference, a woman named Aparna Thakur claimed that BJP MP Ravi Kishan is the father of her daughter Shenova.
The mother-daughter duo held a press conference in Lucknow, claiming that she would approach the court to seek legal rights for her daughter if Kishan does not accept Shenova as his daughter. She said that the purpose of the press conference was to get legal rights for her daughter, suggesting that Kishan should adopt her.
She said she was tired of approaching Kishan to accept their daughter and is, hence, seeking the law's help for her rights.
Thakur also claimed that Kishan has only accepted her daughter Shenova in private and never acknowledged her existence in public. She went on to claim that they had been married. "We are married. Kishan applied sindoor on me and made me wear a mangalsutra in front of his family," said Thakur. She said they were married in 1996 in Mumbai.
She added that she has photographs with Kishan, and also has pictures of the three together.
They also want to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to discuss the matter.
When reporters asked why she was raising this issue now, as Lok Sabha elections are set to begin soon, Thakur clarified that she has nothing to do with them and, in fact, wants Kishan to win.
She claimed that the two had been in touch for many years and used to spend quality time together, but for nearly a year, Kishan had been ignoring her.
