US bans imports from 37 Chinese firms over forced labour

US and European companies have been under pressure to distance themselves from factories in the Xinjiang region that manufacture clothes and other products. Labour groups have documented alleged forced labour camps and other poor working conditions involving the local Uyghur population. China disputes these claims.
