A special session titled "Bridging Dreams and Funding: Linking Venture Capital/Investors to the Future of Startups" was inaugurated by Secretary (T), facilitating interaction between 26 startups/MSMEs and more than 10 venture capitalists/investors. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission and Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications (MoC), inaugurated the "Bharat 5G Portal- an Integrated Portal" during the 'Bharat Telecom 2024.

 

The event, organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) in collaboration with the DoT, witnessed the revealing of the Bharat 5G Portal, aimed at serving as a comprehensive platform for all quantum, IPR, PoCs/Pilots, 5G, and 6G-related initiatives.

 

In his address, Mittal announced a call for 6G R&D proposals through the integrated portal, inviting proposals for accelerated research to develop the 6G ecosystem. He emphasized India's rapid strides in 5G rollout, positioning the nation as a global leader in telecom technology.

 

Mittal launched the Future Tech-Experts registration portal in collaboration with PANIIT USA, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within the Indian telecom ecosystem.

 

A special session titled "Bridging Dreams and Funding: Linking Venture Capital/Investors to the Future of Startups" was inaugurated by Secretary (T), facilitating interaction between 26 startups/MSMEs and more than 10 venture capitalists/investors. The startups presented their innovative telecom products, seeking funding to scale their operations.

 

Speaking at the event, Mittal remarked, "India's 5G rollout is among the fastest globally, and now, we are already talking about 6G." He highlighted India's burgeoning startup ecosystem, emphasizing the need to create new business opportunities for Indian manufacturers.

 

The Bharat 5G Portal is a culmination of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision to advance India's telecom capabilities. It serves as a knowledge dissemination platform, connecting over 100 "5G Use Case Labs" across educational institutions in the country. Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) spearheaded the implementation of these labs and portal development.

 

The portal acts as a one-stop solution for academia, industry, and startups, facilitating collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in the telecom sector.
