L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has clinched a monumental project worth Rs 800 crore from the Maharashtra government, aiming to spearhead the establishment of a cutting-edge cybersecurity and digital threat analytics center. The endeavor marks a significant stride towards bolstering cyber resilience and fortifying public safety against evolving cyber threats.

Announced on Friday, LTTS, the engineering services arm of infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T), revealed that it will collaborate with KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP as a forensics partner to furnish advanced cybersecurity solutions tailored for the state's needs.

In a statement, LTTS described the contract as pioneering in India, forming a pivotal component of its overarching vision to foster digitally interconnected smart cities fortified with robust cybersecurity and digital forensic capabilities.

The project's scope encompasses the development of a sophisticated cybersecurity infrastructure and the establishment of a dedicated cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention center. This center will serve as a frontline defense against cybercrime incidents and investigations, harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital forensic tools.

Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of LTTS, highlighted the strategic importance of the deal, highlighting the company's extensive experience in setting up more than 25 command centers. He emphasized the growing imperative of cybersecurity investments and the pivotal role of advanced digital safeguard platforms in safeguarding society.

Chadha expressed optimism that the project would not only enhance LTTS's domestic footprint but also position it to amplify its offerings for a global clientele.

The project also entails the establishment of a Digital Threat Analytics Centre (DTAC) coupled with a Centre of Excellence (CoE), empowering the forensic team with state-of-the-art tools for detecting deepfakes, investigating mobile malware, delving into Internet of Things (IoT) incidents, and conducting network forensics.

Additionally, a Central Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be instituted to ensure swift incident response and investigation, further bolstering the state's cybersecurity posture.

Investors reacted positively to the news, with LTTS's stock trading 1.62% higher at Rs 5,350 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) at 1044 hours on Friday, outperforming the benchmark index's 0.67% correction.
