Spreading the message of IISF 2023 across the social fabric

The ninth edition of India International Science Festival (IISF-2023) has begun, ushering in celebrations of scientific achievements and technological competence.

The mega science festival, scheduled at the RCB THSTI campus in Faridabad (Haryana) from January 17 to 20, 2024, is a collaborative effort by key ministries namely, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Ministry of Earth sciences (MoES), Department of scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of space (DoS), and department of Atomic energy (DAE), in alliance with Vijnana Bharati.

Since 2015, IISF has been commemorating India’s achievements in the realm of science and technology in an engaging manner.

The consistent efforts of IISF was notably demonstrated in the year 2020 when amidst the struggles posed by COVID-19 pandemic, the festival seamlessly transitioned to a virtual platform. Organized by CSIR-NIScPR, the event highlighted India’s digital excellence, delivering an engaging online experience accentuating the nation’s self-reliance and adaptability.

In 2021, the Department of Science and Department of Atomic Energy joined hands with IISF, magnifying the festival’s mission to reinforce the science and technology innovation ecosystem.

In 2023, as IISF manifests the theme of “Science and technology public outreach in Amrit Kaal”, the festival aims to build connections between science and every stratum of the society. Further, coordinated by the Department of science and technology and the National Innovation Foundation, in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati, the festival aligns with the Swadeshi Science movement’s objective to integrate science with society.

The outreach programs extend its arms to schools and research institutes nationwide, delivering the festival’s message extensively.

With over 40 outreach events already concluded, another 20 are in the pipeline, a total of 60 events are set to pave the way for IISF 2023, consolidating its commitment of making science accessible to all, while inspiring future generations.
