On Friday, Swiggy announced the launch of an industry-first feature called Incognito Mode, designed to allow users to place orders privately across its food delivery and quick commerce services.
The new feature, available on both Swiggy Food and Instamart, enables users to keep their orders out of the app’s history, eliminating the need for manual deletion.
Incognito Mode is aimed at users who want to keep their orders private, whether they are planning a surprise, indulging in a personal treat, or making a discreet purchase.
This feature is also particularly useful for keeping purchases such as personal wellness products on Swiggy Instamart confidential.
"As social as our lives are becoming, there are still things we prefer to keep private, and Incognito Mode is designed to address that need," said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace.
"Whether you're ordering a meal or making a quick purchase, Incognito Mode ensures your choices remain private. We're excited to offer our users a seamless experience that lets them enjoy Swiggy's diverse offerings with enhanced privacy."
Currently, Incognito Mode is available to 10 per cent of Swiggy users, with plans to roll it out to all users in the coming days. The feature can be activated through a toggle in the user's cart.
Once turned on, a reminder will confirm that Incognito Mode is active. After delivery, the order remains trackable for three hours, after which it is discreetly removed from the order history to maintain privacy.
