ashtriya Janata Dal leader and Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, narrowly escaped injury when a speeding truck rammed into two vehicles of his convoy near Goraul in Vaishali district shortly after midnight on Saturday. Three security personnel sustained injuries in the incident.
The mishap occurred around 12.30 a.m. when Yadav’s convoy had paused for a tea break along the Patna–Muzaffarpur national highway while returning to the state capital from Madhepura.
According to a senior police official, Yadav’s own vehicle was not hit by the oncoming truck. However, the impact damaged two other vehicles in the convoy and left three of his security men wounded.
“Yadav escaped unhurt in the accident. Three security personnel sustained injuries and were taken to the nearest government hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable. Yadav had also visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured personnel,” the officer said.
