The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday ridiculed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for undertaking a jungle safari in Madhya Pradesh while the Bihar Assembly elections were in progress, asserting that for him, the abbreviation LoP truly means 'Leader of Partying'.
"For Rahul Gandhi, LoP stands for Leader of Paryatan and Partying. While Bihar goes to polls, he goes on vacation. When they lose, they'll blame the Election Commission and release a PowerPoint on H Files (holiday files)," BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated in a post on X.
In another dig, Poonawalla cited a Hindi couplet: "Ta umr Congress yeh galti karti rahi, dhool chehre pe thi, Congress aaina saaf karti rahi" — suggesting that the Congress persistently avoids self-reflection despite successive electoral setbacks.
Rahul Gandhi had reached Pachmarhi, a hill station in Narmadapuram district, on Saturday to participate in a training camp organised for Madhya Pradesh Congress district presidents.
On Sunday morning, he embarked on a jungle safari in an open jeep, departing from Ravishankar Bhavan at 6.15 am, covering approximately 10 kilometres to the Panarpani Gate, and then returning. Gandhi is scheduled to travel to Bihar later in the day to speak at an election rally in Kishanganj.
During his visit to Madhya Pradesh, the Congress leader once again charged the Election Commission with enabling "vote theft" through the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, allegedly at the direction of the BJP.

Gandhi claimed he believes that, similar to Haryana, "vote theft" occurred in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh as well.
"A few days ago, I gave a presentation on Haryana, and I clearly saw that vote theft was taking place...25 lakh votes were stolen, 1 in 8 votes were stolen. After looking at that, after looking at the data, I believe that the same thing happened in MP, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. And this is the system of the BJP and EC (Election Commission)," the Congress MP alleged.
Moreover, Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of operating in "joint partnership".
"My issue is that democracy is being attacked; Ambedkar's Constitution is being attacked. (Prime Minister) Modi ji, (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah ji and (Chief Election Commissioner) Gyanesh ji are doing this directly by forming a joint partnership. And because of this, the country is suffering a lot. Bharat Mata is being harmed, Bharat Mata is being damaged," he alleged.
