Tejashwi Yadav vows to make Bihar crime free and new.

The Mahagathbandhan on Tuesday unveiled its election manifesto, titled ‘Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran’, for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Election 2025, pledging to make the state crime-free and prosperous.

The alliance, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Mahagathbandhan Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, outlined a series of welfare and development-oriented promises aimed at reshaping Bihar’s future.

According to the manifesto, every individual will receive free health insurance coverage of up to Rs 25 lakh under the Jan Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, and every family will be entitled to 200 units of free electricity.

The Mahagathbandhan also pledged that within 20 days of forming the government, it would enact legislation to ensure one government job per family in the state.

During the release of the manifesto, Mahagathbandhan’s Deputy Chief Ministerial face, Mukesh Sahani, said the alliance had launched a Sankalp Patra for a “new Bihar”.

He said, “For the next 30 to 35 years, we will work for the service of the people of Bihar. We will fulfil every aspiration of the public and complete all the promises made to them. The people of the state are standing with the Mahagathbandhan, and we are forming the government in Bihar. On the other hand, the NDA has no ‘Sankalp’.”

Key Promises in the Mahagathbandhan Manifesto

The manifesto includes several key commitments:

– An act to provide one government job per family within 20 days of forming the government.

– Implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS Scheme).

– Monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women under the Mai-Behin Maan Yojana from December 1, totalling Rs 30,000 annually for five years.

– 200 units of free electricity for every family.

– Protection of constitutional rights of all minority communities.

– Suspension of the Waqf Amendment Bill, with reforms to make Waqf property management more transparent and welfare-oriented.

– Transfer of management of Buddhist temples in Bodh Gaya to the Buddhist community.

– Guaranteed purchase of all crops at minimum support prices and revival of the Mandi and Market Committee system.

– Reinstatement of the APMC Act and establishment of mandis at divisional, sub-divisional, and block levels.

– A legislative proposal to raise the 50 per cent reservation ceiling in proportion to population, to be sent to the Central Government for inclusion in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.

– Increase in reservation for the Most Backward Classes in panchayat and municipal bodies from 20 per cent to 30 per cent, and for Scheduled Castes from 16 per cent to 20 per cent, along with proportional enhancement for Scheduled Tribes.

Tejashwi Yadav Promises a “New Bihar”

Speaking at the manifesto launch, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Not only do we have to form the government in Bihar, but we also have to make a new Bihar. The Mahagathbandhan alliance has released the Sankalp Patra for Bihar.”

The RJD leader also launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him a “puppet” in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

He said, “Nitish Kumar is like a puppet in the NDA. The BJP is merely using his face. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already said that Nitish Kumar will not be the CM of Bihar. The BJP will not make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister after the elections. The INDIA alliance has declared me as the CM face, but the NDA has not even held a single press conference to announce their CM candidate.”

Tejashwi Calls Manifesto a Vision Document

Ahead of the manifesto release, Tejashwi Yadav had described the Sankalp Patra as a vision document that outlines the INDIA bloc’s roadmap to make Bihar the leading state in the country.

“We have a vision for Bihar and a roadmap for its development. It can also be called the ‘Tejashwi Pran Patra’ (Tejashwi’s resolution document),” he told reporters.

Criticising the NDA for not declaring a chief ministerial candidate, Yadav said, “We announced our CM face well before the elections. We are releasing our manifesto today. What about the NDA? They have neither declared their CM candidate nor released their manifesto. They simply copy our promises.”

The RJD leader also accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting Bihar’s development. “Whenever the Prime Minister visits Bihar, he abuses Opposition leaders instead of talking about constructive policies. This is negative politics,” he alleged.

The 243-member Bihar Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the results scheduled to be declared on November 14.
