RJD wants to bring back ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar: JP Nadda

BJP president JP Nadda on Saturday alleged that the return of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to power in Bihar will bring back ‘jungle raj’ (lawlessness), marked by kidnappings and extortion bids.

Prevented by bad weather from joining the election rally in Siwan, Nadda addressed it virtually and implored voters to not allow the “terror” of late gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin to return.

Nadda was referring to the nomination of Shahabuddin’s son, Osama Shahab, who the RJD has fielded in Siwan’s Raghunathpur seat. The senior BJP leader said Shahab’s nomination rang alarm bells indicating the return of a total collapse of law and order in the state.

“Bihar witnessed ‘jungle raj’ under the RJD regime. There was complete anarchy in the state. Law and order had collapsed, and along with that, an industry of kidnapping started growing here,” Nadda alleged.

Saying the RJD stood for ‘Rangdari’ (extortion), ‘Jungle Raj’ (anarchy) and ‘Dadagiri’ (intimidation), he said to the voters: “Don’t vote for RJD as its leaders, Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi and Misa Bharti, are all out on bail.”

“Siwan had witnessed the terror of Sahabuddin, and once again, RJD nominated his son in the assembly polls. Lalu Prasad’s party wants to bring ‘jungle raj’ back to Bihar,” he further claimed.

The Union health minister said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, the people of Bihar were witnessing growth.

“Bihar is continuously moving towards development. I urge people to vote for NDA only,” he said.

Campaigning is in full swing in Bihar, ahead of the assembly elections, which are set to begin a few days.
