Omidyar’s Anti-India run ends: Links to INC found

The Omidyar Network, known for its controversial activities and connections to regime change operations, has decided to withdraw its investment from India.

The Omidyar Network, known for its controversial activities and connections to regime change operations, has decided to withdraw its investment from India. Operating in the country since 2010, the firm attributed its decision to changes in India's economic landscape.

Founder Pierre Omidyar has been associated with George Soros' Open Society Foundation, which is alleged to fund NGOs in India for disseminating anti-India propaganda to influence regime and policy changes.

The Omidyar Network has been identified as a supporter of various anti-India organizations, including the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), whose FCRA registration was revoked for violating the FC Act of 2010. Raqib Naik, the creator of the anti-India Hindutwa Watch, is also among those funded by Omidyar. Major left-leaning media outlets such as The Scroll, The Wire, and The NewsLaundry receive funding from the Omidyar Network.

Notably, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), criticized for biased fact-checking in India, received a $1.3 million grant from the Omidyar Network through the Open Society Foundation led by George Soros. Omidyar's close association with the Indian National Congress is evident through Varad Pandey, the leader of Omidyar's strategy in India, who previously served as a special advisor to Jairam Ramesh during his tenure as a Union Minister in the UPA government.

It's worth mentioning that Jairam Ramesh is a close aide to Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi and currently oversees communications for the INC.

In 2021, Omidyar faced repercussions as SEBI debarred the organization for engaging in unfair trade practices. The decision of Omidyar to withdraw its investment from India is interpreted as a positive sign, possibly indicating a decline in the effectiveness of anti-India propaganda efforts.
