ICICI Bank has rubbished reports of its MD & CEO, Sandeep Bakhshi wanting to quit as baseless.
In an exchange filing on Thursday, the bank responded to an article in a news portal, the Morning Context, which quoted sources saying that Bakhshi had indicated he wanted to step down from his position.
The portal had said its sources had said that a personal emergeny had led to Bakhshi's decision.
ICICI Bank said,“We would like to categorically deny the information published in the article regarding ICICI Bank’s MD allegedly expressing willingness to leave his position due to personal reasons. This information is figment of imagination and therefore, completely baseless and misleading."
Calling it a "rumour being spread with an ulterior motive and malicious intent," ICICI Bank said it was being done "in order to harm the Bank and its stakeholders.”
