BJP minister’s picture figures on banner at Rahul Gandhi’s rally in MP; Congress calls it ‘human error’.

— The Congress party faced embarrassment on Monday as a video circulated on social media showing a banner with a picture of Union Minister and BJP candidate Faggan Singh Kulaste at Rahul Gandhi's rally in Madhya Pradesh's Mandla Lok Sabha seat.

The Congress attributed the blunder to a "human error," while Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav claimed the opposition party had conceded defeat even before the elections.

The video purportedly displayed Kulaste's image on a banner serving as a backdrop for the stage at the rally scheduled later in the day at Dhanora, about 80 kilometers from Seoni district headquarters under the Mandla Lok Sabha seat.

In the footage, workers were seen covering the Union minister's picture with an image of Rajneesh Harvansh Singh, the Congress MLA from the Keolari assembly seat.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav remarked, "The Congress has already accepted defeat by putting up a picture of BJP candidate Kulaste. This shows the Congress's seriousness. They have accepted defeat even before the elections."

Senior Congress leader KK Mishra described the banner blunder as a "human error" in a statement.

"The BJP has made it a habit to politicize every issue, even if it is a human error. We can't say anything about such habits of the BJP," Mishra said.

Rahul Gandhi is set to address a rally for Congress candidate Omkar Singh Markam from Mandla, a former minister and sitting MLA from Dindori.
