West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, leading the Trinamool Congress, is set to commence her campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on March 31, as confirmed by a party official on Tuesday.

Banerjee, who sustained a significant injury to her forehead following a fall at her residence on March 14, has been advised by medical professionals to take rest, resulting in her absence from the campaign circuit.

"Our esteemed party leader will inaugurate the election campaign on March 31. Her maiden rally will be held in Dhubulia, Krishnanagar, located in Nadia district. During this event, she will extend her support to TMC candidates Mahua Moitra and Mukut Mani Adhikari contesting from Krishnanagar and Ranaghat constituencies respectively," the party representative disclosed.

Banerjee had previously disclosed the Trinamool Congress' candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal during a grand rally at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Grounds on March 10.
