PM Modi's guarantee is to save citizens from hardships, says Rajnath Singh in MP's Singrauli

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led the Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign for the initial phase of Lok Sabha elections, slated for April 19, in Madhya Pradesh, as he engaged in a roadshow and delivered a public address in Singrauli.

Singrauli, a pivotal coal mining center, falls within the Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency, situated in the Vindhya region adjoining Uttar Pradesh.

During his campaign for the BJP's candidate in Sidhi, Rajesh Mishra, Singh emphasized Prime Minister Modi's commitment to alleviating citizen hardships while lambasting the opposition for purportedly spreading animosity. "PM Modi's guarantee is to save citizens from hardships, while the useless opposition is spreading hatred," asserted Singh.

Recalling his tenure as the Opposition leader during the UPA regime, Singh criticized the Congress, alleging rampant corruption under its governance, which led to the incarceration of some ministers. "Congress-led UPA rule was mired in corruption, leading to some ministers getting jailed at the time," he claimed.

Addressing a sizable gathering of party loyalists, Singh highlighted the BJP's track record of fulfilling electoral promises, citing achievements such as the construction of the Ram Temple and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The BJP fulfills each and every promise made in its manifesto. We were mocked for our commitment to the Ram Temple but it was built. We abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir," he declared.

Accusing the opposition coalition of disseminating hatred and misinformation, Singh, included in the list of 40-star campaigners alongside PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, made his inaugural poll rally appearance in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh, with its 29 parliamentary constituencies, is gearing up for elections. Sidhi is one of the six Lok Sabha seats scheduled for polling on April 19, along with Chhindwara, Shahdol, Mandla, Balaghat, and Jabalpur.

The BJP has nominated Rajesh Mishra as its candidate in Sidhi, pitting him against former minister Kamleshwar Patel, who suffered defeat in the Sihawal assembly segment during the previous assembly election in November last year.
