Saffron sweep: Amit Shah's Jaipur roadshow boosts BJP's Manju Sharma campaign

Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy CM Diya Kumari, and Manju Sharma were present with the Union Home Minister during the roadshow.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a roadshow in Jaipur on Monday for Manju Sharma, the BJP’s Lok Sabha poll candidate from the Jaipur parliamentary seat.

Dominated by the Brahmin community, the Jaipur Lok Sabha seat will see a keen contest between the BJP's Manju Sharma and Congress’ Pratap Singh Khachariyawas.

The 1.8 km roadshow started from Sanganeri Gate, passed through Johri Bazar, Badi Chaupad, Tripolia Bazar, and ended at Chhoti Chaupad.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy CM Diya Kumari, and Manju Sharma were present with the Union Home Minister during the roadshow.

The entire walled city was adorned with saffron flags and posters.

The roadshow received a rousing welcome at different places, with people showering flowers on the procession and raising slogans in support of PM Modi and other party leaders. Tight security arrangements with heavy police deployment were made in the walled city area. Traffic movement was not allowed in the areas through which the roadshow passed.

While seeking support for the BJP candidate, Home Minister Shah urged voters to exercise their franchise in the morning hours before the temperature rises.

He said that the votes given to Manju Sharma and the Lotus will ensure Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister again. When asked about the possibility of a close contest on two to three seats, the senior BJP leader said, "It seems like that every time but when the box opens Modi has won."

The Home Minister also said that Lord Ram “will celebrate his birthday in a grand temple in Ayodhya after 500 years”.
