The Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, honoured the distinguished veterans with the Veteran Achievers Award, recognising their exemplary contributions to society and nation-building, following their retirements from the service.
The four veterans were awarded during the Retiring Officers Seminar at New Delhi, where the COAS also interacted with the Officers superannuating (retiring) on December 31, 2025, during the Retiring Officers' Seminar.
The veterans who have been awarded are —
“Lieutenant Colonel B S Rautela (Retd) has rendered exemplary service towards the welfare of veterans, Veer Naris and Next of Kin, including active assistance in resolving legal cases and facilitating the timely grant of emoluments and entitlements.”
“Lieutenant Colonel Iqbal Singh (Retd) played a pivotal role in upskilling veterans across diverse domains and has been instrumental in enabling their smooth transition from military service to meaningful second careers in the corporate sector.”
“Havildar Congress Pradhan (Retd) has made significant contributions towards the upliftment and welfare of veterans and their families in his hometown of Kabisuryanagar, Odisha, through sustained community engagement and support initiatives.”
“Signalman Anil Kumar Jakhar (Retd) has dedicated himself to motivating and training youth in sports and guiding aspirants towards a career in the Armed Forces, thereby contributing to nation-building through youth empowerment.”
