Indian Navy P-8I aircraft joins Exercise SeaDragon

The Indian Navy’s P-8I ASW aircraft will participate in the United States-led Multinational Exercise SeaDragon in Guam. It is an annually conducted multinational anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercise. The drill was started by America to strengthen Indo-Pacific maritime security cooperation.
 
Indian Navy, US Navy, Japan Maritime Self‑Defense Force, Royal Australian Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force are part of the two-week exercise.  
 
Navy's P-8I Neptune is a long-range, multi-mission maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft, which is critical for surveillance and combat in the Indian Ocean. It is equipped with Mark 54 lightweight torpedoes, depth charges, Harpoon Block II missiles and sonobuoys.
 
The key work of the P-8I ASW aircraft is Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).
