Food delivery platform Swiggy has increased its platform fee to ₹17.58 per order, the company’s app showed on Tuesday, following a similar hike by rival Zomato.
Swiggy had last revised its platform fee in September last year. The current increase sets the fee at ₹17.58 per order, inclusive of GST, while Zomato charges ₹14.90 on a pre-GST basis. With this adjustment, the effective platform fee for both food delivery services is now roughly the same, at around ₹17.58 per order.

On March 20, Zomato raised its platform fee by ₹2.40, bringing it to ₹14.90 per order on a pre-GST basis. Platform fees are fixed, per-order charges that are additional to delivery and restaurant fees. They help cover operating expenses, technology upkeep, and customer support services.
The latest fee hike is expected to increase the cost of food delivery for millions of users across India. Industry analysts noted that the simultaneous increase by Swiggy and Zomato comes amid rising crude oil prices due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which is likely to further drive up delivery costs.
