AI-driven fleet safety technology company Netradyne has entered into a partnership with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) to develop and deploy an advanced intelligence and safety layer for commercial electric vehicles operating across India’s emerging e-highway infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Netradyne’s artificial intelligence-based solutions will be rolled out in a phased manner across connected commercial EVs operating on NHEV-supported corridors, the company officials said in a statement on Tuesday.
The integration is designed to enable real-time fleet monitoring, predictive risk assessment, driver behaviour analytics, and enhanced operational oversight for long-haul electric vehicles operating across intercity and interstate routes.
“As part of this initiative, Netradyne’s AI platform will provide a crucial intelligence and safety layer through advanced driver behaviour analysis, vehicle tracking, and corridor-level operational monitoring for commercial electric vehicles deployed on NHEV-enabled routes,” the statement read.
The NHEV project, which was adopted as a pilot initiative by the central government in 2024, aims to develop a nationwide e-highway ecosystem spanning 26 corridors by 2027. The programme is focused on enabling seamless long-distance electric freight mobility across India.
The planned network will cover approximately 5,500 kilometres along key Bharatmala and Sagarmala routes, linking major economic corridors including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, and extending up to Kanyakumari.

The project is being financed through a credit support of Rs 3,672 crore provided by HDFC Bank. Officials said the initiative is intended to build not just charging infrastructure but also a connected digital ecosystem that can support safe and efficient electric freight movement.
“India’s e-highway vision is not limited to physical charging infrastructure. It is equally about creating a trusted, data-driven mobility ecosystem that can instil confidence among commercial EV operators and the freight industry,” said Abhijeet Sinha, Program Director at NHEV.
He added that the digital intelligence layer would play a key role in improving road safety, reducing accidents, enabling predictive risk alerts, and enhancing operational reliability for both freight operators and passengers.
Durgadutt Nedungadi, Senior Vice President for EMEA and APAC Business at Netradyne, said the collaboration is expected to significantly reduce road risk and improve the safety and reliability of long-distance electric vehicle operations.
Founded in 2015, Netradyne is headquartered in San Diego, with additional offices in San Francisco, Nashville, and Bengaluru. The company has a strong India presence, with more than 70 per cent of its workforce based in the country.
