BHARAT TEX 2024 to be India’s Largest Global Textiles Mega Event: Textile Secretary

Bharat TEX 2024, touted as India's largest global textiles mega event, is all set to open its doors on February 26, promising a convergence of industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the world. With over 22 lakh sq ft of exhibition space spread across two venues at Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, the four-day extravaganza aims to spotlight India's prowess in textiles while emphasizing sustainability and resilient supply chains.

Rachna Shah, Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, unveiled the grand scale of Bharat TEX during a press conference in New Delhi today. The event, organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, is poised to be a global platform for trade, investment, and collaboration in the textile industry.

The inauguration ceremony on Monday will be graced by the presence of PM Narendra Modi.

Built on the twin pillars of trade and investment, Bharat TEX aims to showcase India's entire textile value chain while embracing the principles of sustainability.

The event will witness the participation of over 3,500 exhibitors, 3,000 buyers from 100 countries, and more than 50,000 trade visitors, making it a comprehensive showcase of India's textile capabilities.

Inspired by Modi's 5F Vision, Bharat TEX embodies a unified Farm to Fashion focus, covering every aspect of the textile value chain. The exhibition will feature a wide array of products including apparel, home furnishings, floor coverings, fibers, yarns, fabrics, and technical textiles.

Shah noted that Bharat TEX is not only the largest in terms of exhibition space but also the first to be hosted simultaneously at two venues, both of which have been fully subscribed. The event will feature a cohesive representation of the entire textile value chain, showcasing India's rich heritage and technological advancements in the industry.

Bharat TEX will also host a series of fashion shows, art demonstrations, and interactive sessions, offering attendees a glimpse into global fashion trends and innovative textile solutions. A dedicated pavilion on sustainability and recycling will showcase initiatives aimed at promoting environmental stewardship within the industry.

A key highlight of the event is the global-scale conference featuring 350 speakers, who will deliberate on issues facing the global textiles industry and India's potential to address these challenges. Sessions will focus on sustainability, resilient value chains, and the role of technologies like AI and blockchain in shaping the future of textile manufacturing.

Bharat TEX will launch a Textiles Grand Innovation Challenge, aimed at identifying innovative circular solutions to enhance India's textiles and apparel industry.

The event has attracted significant interest from leading global textile companies, including Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and H&M, among others.

Business delegations from key textiles hubs and multilateral organizations are also set to participate, reflecting the event's status as a premier platform for international collaboration in the textiles sector.
