Blinkit, renowned for its swift grocery deliveries, has rolled out an update: complimentary coriander with purchases meeting a specific vegetable threshold.
This innovative addition stems from a social media outcry sparked by a user whose mother was taken aback by the notion of being charged for 'dhaniya' on the platform, a staple typically provided for free by local vendors.
The narrative began on social media when the user shared his mother's astonishment upon discovering that coriander came with a price tag on Blinkit.
The post swiftly struck a chord with numerous users, resonating with households accustomed to receiving coriander and green chilies as complementary items from their local vegetable vendors.
In the user's post, he wrote, "Mom got a mini heart attack because she had to pay for dhaniya on Blinkit. @albinder- mom is suggesting that you should bundle it for free with a certain amount of veggies."
In response to the uproar, Blinkit's CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, promptly announced the implementation of the new feature on X platform, crediting the user's mother for the idea. In his announcement, he stated, "It’s live! Everyone please thank Ankit’s mom. We will polish the feature in the next couple of weeks."
