German luxury carmaker BMW Motorrad has launched the much-anticipated 2024 S 1000 XR in India, hot on the heels of the M 1000 XR's debut.

 

This powerful sport tourer is priced at Rs 22.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and caters to riders seeking a thrilling blend of performance and touring capability.

 

The S 1000 XR boasts a sleek design with three colour options – Blackstorm metallic, Gravity Blue metallic with Style Sports package, and a White solid paint job with the Motorsport package.

 

The bike comes equipped with a comprehensive touring and dynamic package, ensuring a comfortable and exhilarating ride.

 

Standard features include Rider Modes Pro for customizable performance settings, heated grips for chilly mornings, and a sophisticated Headlight Pro with adaptive technology for enhanced nighttime visibility.

 

Cruise control, a keyless ride system, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a USB charger further elevate the riding experience.

 

For those seeking an extra dose of exclusivity, BMW offers an optional M package.

 

This package includes a striking colour scheme, a comfortable M Sport seat, a lightweight M battery, forged M wheels, a durable M Endurance chain, a GPS lap timer, a sporty silencer, and a tinted sports windscreen.

 

The 2024 update brings subtle cosmetic and ergonomic enhancements. New side panels towards the rear and a colour-matched front fender add a touch of visual refinement.

 

The seating position has been raised by 10 mm for improved comfort, and the new seat promises better rider accommodation on long journeys.

 

At the heart of the S 1000 XR lies a potent 999 cc, inline-four cylinder engine with flow-optimized geometry.

 

This powerhouse delivers 168 bhp and 114 Nm of torque, paired with a slick 6-speed gearbox featuring a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless gear changes.

 

Riders can choose from four ride modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Dynamic Pro – to tailor the bike's performance to their preferences and riding conditions. 

 

With a claimed 0-100 kph acceleration time of 3.25 seconds and a top speed exceeding 250 kph, the S 1000 XR promises an exhilarating riding experience.

 

Powerful braking duties are handled by a twin-disc setup at the front and a single disc setup at the rear.
