As the world gears up to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has announced its plans to commemorate the occasion with a virtual round-table webinar focusing on "Women in Civil Service."

 

Scheduled for March 8th, 2024, the webinar aims to highlight the contributions of women in the civil services sector and discuss pertinent issues surrounding gender equality and empowerment.

 

International Women’s Day serves as a global platform to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women across various spheres of life. It also serves as a reminder of the challenges that persist in achieving gender parity and the importance of concerted efforts towards creating an inclusive and equitable society.

 

The upcoming webinar organized by DARPG will bring together officials from all Ministries/Departments, State Administrative Reforms Departments, and District Collectors to deliberate on the theme of "Women in Civil Service."

 

The event will feature prominent speakers, including Sujata Chaturvedi, Secretary of the Department of Sports, Government of India, Anita Praveen, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India and Nidhi Khare, Officer on Special Duty, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.

 

The speakers will share insights and experiences on the role of women in civil service and discuss strategies to enhance their participation and leadership in the sector.

 

Their perspectives are expected to shed light on the challenges faced by women in navigating professional spaces and offer solutions to promote their empowerment and advancement.

 

The webinar comes at a crucial juncture when efforts to promote gender equality and inclusivity are gaining momentum worldwide.
