The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Sunday said it has increased the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass by Rs 75 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026–27, with the revised rate set to come into effect from April 1.

In a statement, the highways authority said the fee revision has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

“The applicable fee for the FASTag Annual Pass is being revised from the current Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the Financial Year 2026–27,” NHAI said.

The FASTag Annual Pass facility, launched on August 15, 2025, was introduced to provide financial relief and convenience to commuters who frequently travel on national highways. The initiative allows private vehicle owners to avoid repeated toll payments by making a one-time annual payment.

According to NHAI, the annual pass has witnessed steady adoption among private vehicle users, with more than 56 lakh commuters opting for the facility so far.

The revised fee will apply to eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag and will cover travel through around 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and national expressways across the country.

Officials said the FASTag Annual Pass removes the need for regular FASTag recharges by allowing users to pay a one-time fee that remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever is earlier.

The pass is linked to the FASTag already installed on the vehicle and becomes operational shortly after payment.

According to NHAI, the annual pass gets activated within two hours of payment on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle. Users can purchase the pass through the Rajmarg Yatra App or via the official website of the highways authority.

FASTag, which is based on radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, enables automatic toll payments by deducting the toll fee directly from a user’s linked prepaid wallet or bank account, allowing vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping.

The electronic toll collection system has been widely implemented across India’s highway network to reduce congestion at toll plazas, promote digital payments and ensure smoother traffic flow on major road corridors.

With the revised annual pass fee coming into force from April, commuters using national highways will continue to have the option of availing the scheme for simplified and uninterrupted toll payments across the country’s expanding highway network.
