Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is pushing for forming a task force in cooperation with the Ministry of Power to accelerate efforts to reach India's ambitious aim of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
The minister for new and renewable energy has also urged industry participants and stakeholders to develop ways to help the country accomplish the target in a timely manner.
Speaking at an event in Bhubaneswar, Joshi proposed the formation of a task force in consultation with the Ministry of Power to align all stakeholders' efforts towards attaining the 500 GW target, according to a release from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on Thursday.
India has already generated 212 GW of non-fossil fuel energy and is on track to reach the 2030 objective, he said.

oshi emphasised the necessity of coordinated, collaborative efforts by all stakeholders to overcome obstacles and accelerate progress in the renewable energy sector.
Joshi also stated that the government would continue to promote technological developments and ideas in the renewable energy sector.
"The minister also expressed optimism regarding the commitments made during the RE-Invest Summit, which collectively amount to over Rs 32 lakh crore and 540 GW of renewable energy projects," according to a release.
