Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday held a series of meetings in Singapore to explore ways to deepen India-Singapore trade, investment and business partnerships across key sectors, including healthcare.
The engagements came as India and Singapore concluded the fourth ministerial roundtable, with discussions focused on expanding economic cooperation and creating new opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries.
Goyal met Singapore Business Federation Chairman Mark Lee and discussed ways to strengthen business-to-business engagement between the two countries. He stressed the role of business communities in driving economic partnerships and opening up new avenues for collaboration.
The minister also met Temasek Holdings CEO Dilhan Sandrasegara to discuss deepening investment linkages and increasing the Singaporean investment firm's participation in India's growth story.
Goyal highlighted India's economic fundamentals, investment-led reforms and expanding opportunities across sectors as key factors that could support long-term partnerships.
He also held discussions with Fortis Healthcare Chairman Leo Puri and IHH Healthcare Group CEO Dr Prem Nair on strengthening India-Singapore cooperation in healthcare. The meetings focused on opportunities for greater partnerships in India's growing healthcare ecosystem and attracting global investors and institutions to the sector.

Singapore top FDI source for India
Goyal also addressed the India-Singapore Business Forum and met potential investors and industry representatives during his visit.
He further visited an exhibition showcasing Indian agricultural products alongside Singapore Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang. The exhibition was aimed at promoting Indian agricultural exports in the Singapore market.
Singapore remained India's largest source of foreign direct investment in 2025-26, contributing $19.8 billion in FDI inflows, according to the Commerce Ministry.
Cumulative FDI from Singapore stood at $194.68 billion between April 2000 and March 2026.
Bilateral trade has also grown substantially over the years, rising from $6.7 billion in 2004-05 to $36.1 billion in 2025-26, underscoring the expanding economic relationship between the two countries.
