India’s automobile exports rose 24 per cent in calendar year 2025, driven by strong overseas demand for passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Total vehicle exports climbed to 63,25,211 units in 2025, compared with 50,98,474 units in the previous calendar year, marking a growth of 24.1 per cent.
Exports of passenger vehicles increased 16 per cent to 8,63,233 units, up from 7,43,979 units in 2024. Within this segment, utility vehicle dispatches rose sharply by 32 per cent to 4,27,219 units, while passenger car shipments grew modestly by 3 per cent to 4,25,396 units.
SIAM said demand remained steady across key global markets, including the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Maruti Suzuki led passenger vehicle exports, dispatching 3.95 lakh units in 2025, compared with 3.26 lakh units in the previous year. The automaker said it is on track to meet its export target of 4 lakh units in FY26.

“Maruti Suzuki today contributes 46 per cent of all passenger vehicle exports from India and there is every reason we should capture a large share of global trade,” Maruti Suzuki India Senior Executive Officer (Corporate Affairs) Rahul Bharti said.
Two-wheeler exports rose 24 per cent to 49,39,706 units, up from 39,77,162 units in 2024. Motorcycle shipments increased 27 per cent to 43,01,927 units, while scooter exports grew 8 per cent to 6,20,241 units.
Three-wheeler exports recorded the sharpest rise, jumping 43 per cent to 4,25,527 units, compared with 2,98,235 units in the previous year.
Exports of commercial vehicles also posted strong growth, increasing 27 per cent to 91,759 units in 2025.
