Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed ‘India’s Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat’ program and laid the foundation stone for three semiconductor projects worth about Rs 1.25 lakh crores across Dholera in Gujarat and Morigaon in Assam via video conferencing today.

 

With the aim of positioning India as a global semiconductor hub, PM Modi hailed the occasion as historic, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping India's future. He congratulated the nation on the initiative and acknowledged the virtual presence of semiconductor industry leaders, particularly from Taiwan, expressing enthusiasm for the collaborative effort.

 

Addressing over 60,000 educational institutions connected to the event, PM Modi highlighted the significance of today's program for India's youth, highlighting their role as stakeholders in the nation's progress. He emphasized the importance of self-reliance and global competitiveness, envisioning Made in India and Designed in India chips as catalysts for India's technological sovereignty.

 Modi asserted the government's proactive approach in realizing the nation's potential. From infrastructure development to defense modernization and space exploration, he cited numerous initiatives aimed at propelling India towards self-reliance and development.

 

Union Ministers and dignitaries, including Ashwini Vaishnaw and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, joined the Prime Minister in the event as well.
