The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is set to advance its agenda, capitalizing on past successes while introducing new initiatives, according to IT Secretary S Krishnan.
As the NDA prepares to form the government for a third consecutive term, Krishnan assured that the pace of technological progress will continue unabated.
Speaking at a Software Technology Park of India (STPI) event, Krishnan highlighted that the ministry has several initiatives planned, which will be pursued once the new government is established.
"We have a number of initiatives which have been planned and are in the works," he stated.
When asked about the ongoing work on Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules and the Digital India legislation framework, Krishnan confirmed that efforts will proceed at full speed. "The legacy in terms of what we have in the organization, in terms of institutional memory, continues," he emphasized.
Regarding the status of the proposed Digital India legislation, which aims to provide regulatory guidelines for emerging technologies like AI, Krishnan said, "We will see how we structure it...it is too premature to hazard a guess on what shape it takes."
