NHAI issues advisory for Paytm FASTag users ahead of March 15 deadline

To streamline toll transactions and alleviate potential disruptions at toll plazas, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a crucial advisory for Paytm FASTag users.

The advisory, released on March 13, 2024, emphasizes the necessity for Paytm FASTag holders to transition to FASTags issued by other banks before the looming deadline of March 15, 2024.

The directive comes amidst regulatory actions affecting Paytm Payments Bank, which prompted restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Consequently, Paytm FASTag users will no longer have the option to recharge or top-up their balances post the specified cutoff date. However, they can continue utilizing their existing balance to facilitate toll payments beyond March 15.

NHAI underscores the importance of this transition to avert potential penalties or double fee charges while traversing the extensive network of National Highways across the country. The move aims to ensure uninterrupted travel experiences for motorists relying on FASTag technology for toll payments.

For assistance or clarifications regarding the transition process or any concerns related to Paytm FASTag, users are encouraged to reach out to their respective banks. Additionally, they can access relevant information through the frequently asked questions (FAQs) section available on the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) website.

NHAI urges all Paytm FASTag users to proactively address this advisory, facilitating a smooth transition to alternative FASTag providers in preparation for the upcoming deadline.

By adhering to these guidelines, commuters can mitigate potential disruptions and continue enjoying hassle-free journeys on the nation's extensive highway network.
